What are cookies?
Cookies are text files that the website you visit requests to download on your computer (with “computer” also means tablet and smart phone, unless otherwise is stated). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize you as a visitor. The information that the cookie contains can be used to track your browsing across websites that use the same type of cookies and thereby we can, for example, remember your preferences and tailor our advertising to your interests. Cookies are also used for technical purposes in order to generally improve your user experience.
There are two categories of cookies. One category is more durable (known as a “persistent cookie”) and remains on your computer for a longer period with a fixed expiration date. For example, it is used for features that tells you what is new on the website since you last visited it or for customizations of the website made by the visitor. When the expiry date for the cookie has expired, the cookie is deleted from your computer when you re-visit the website which placed the cookie on your computer. The other category of cookie is more of short duration (known as a “session cookie”) and is temporarily stored in your computer during the time you visit a website. This category of cookie is for example used in order to remember your language preferences when browsing the website and is deleted when you close your browser.
VOYD’s primary purpose with using cookies is to improve the Service for you as a visitor. We also register general user statistics by using third party cookies, to improve the Service and to learn more about our users. The statistics cannot be used to identify a specific user.
